Clitoria ternatea has been used for centuries throughout Asia as a calming tea and to improve sexual health in women according to Traditional Chinese medicine. The unusually-colored botanical is now becoming more recognized here in the west for its attractive blue pigment. Its rare color can be attributed to its extremely high anthocyanin count; a powerful antioxidant known for its rare hue that can change from blue to fuschia depending on pH. The flowers are known to have calming, nootropic effects that may also trigger vivid dreaming.
